The book is bound in full dark blue cape morocco, with a framed portrait of a loon sculpted and cut through board covers to create the illusion of a loon swimming through the frame.

Cut out areas reveal an antique marbled paper appearing as a habitat behind loon. When book is open, the marbled paper is seen to be the fly leaf. Loon is tooled with mosaics of cape morocco, chagrin and box calf leathers.

The book is titled in palladium and closes with a leather covered magnetic clasp at the foredge. Clam shell style box.
