Fe De Vida is bound in full burnt orange cape morocco with wing shapes of a butterfly cut out of the front cover. The wings are hinged to allow them to open out from board covers. The edges of the wings and adjacent cover edges are inset with concealed magnets permitting wings to open out into flying position or rest flush into front cover. The front design of the butterfly is tooled in blind with mosaics of cape morocco, chagrin and marbled Oasis leathers in many colors. The butterfly body is three-dimensional to encourage the illusion of flight. When the wings are opened out the blind tooled underside of the butterfly as well as the marbled paper fly leaf may be seen through the board cover. The book is titled both on the front and spine. The front title, tooled in gold and inset with mosaics, surrounds the butterfly.

Geometric shapes, prominently used in the book illustrations, have been incorporated into the back cover design as well as the title on the spine. The back cover includes a cut out square which is removable and reversible but held in place with magnets inset into the square’s edges and the surrounding board edges. The square and the spine title designs are highlighted with gold tooling and mosaics, The book is protected with a drop back box.
