The binding has a split board structure, with tan oasis leather spine and dark green cape morocco sides. A Blackpoint fern agate slice is suspended within a doubled front board, hinged at the fore-edge. The front board can be opened out, permitting the book to stand and light to come through the agate. The double front board is held in a closed position with magnets (not visible). The agate slice was chosen to compliment the etchings in the book that follow forms from nature.
