The book is bound in bordeaux red full cape morocco (goatskin) with multiple levels of high relief of both back and front covers.  The design elements are covered in black and red morocco on the front and black and gray on the rear cover. The central design, cut from front board, has positive shape mounted onto a black suede fly leaf, and incorporates the gold tooled title. The rear center design is also cut out with the positive mounted to a gray suede fly leaf. Front doublure is gray suede with a black morocco frame and rear doublure is black suede framed with gray morocco. The raised panels, designed to  be very light and strong, are composed of a laminate using ty-core, conservation honeycomb board as the center material. All designs are tooled in gold.  Top edge is waxed.  The headbands are embroidered of silk. Original vellum book covers are bound in.  The book is protected by a contoured drop back box.
