The book is covered in full white chagrin goatskin with mosaics of dark blue and orange chagrin. The book covers reflect the book’s illustrations with a Cole Porter style (1940’s) man’s suit jacket, in dark blue, tooled across the front and back covers with an orange tie tooled onto spine. Front cover includes a yellow leather 3 dimensional boutonniere in the lapel buttonhole with a white handkerchief in the breast pocket. Title and author are tooled in gold on the orange tie on the spine with music score and music notes in yellow and blue mosaics tooled in blind.

The printer’s format of the text is a modified accordion structure. End papers were sewn into book and supported with airplane cotton and Oka, Japanese paper. The binding was made in 3 parts created around the unsewn “accordion” style text which permits the book to be read in the usual manner as well as be pulled out, away from the spine, in a continuous accordion format. The fly leaf is of yellow suede and the board sheet a paste paper with a striped pattern chosen to suggest suit lining material. Book also has a gold top edge and silk headbands of blue, orange and yellow.

Book is protected with a clam style box with leather spine and gold tooled title.
